my reflection

Reflection

How time flies it’s just like it’s only yesterday when I first wrote my 1st quarter reflection and few weeks from now I will be graduating.

I remember our adviser Mr. Joseph Obrero once said “ during the 4th grading period , time flies so fast and you will not notice it” and it’s true now that we will leave this school I will now write my 4th quarter reflection.

This last quarter I can’t deny the fact that there are lots of things happened in my student life. Hectic schedule, brain draining quizzes and reviews for those lign up  of exams. And the weird thing is when this 4th grading quarter started it is also the start when we try to reminisce all those memories that we happened to share within our secondary life and it is indeed funny, because as we share are thoughts we can’t stop laughing on our selves for those silly things that we had made. And  who could ever ignore the faces and reactions of our teachers every time we made them mad because of our naughtiness.,,but I admit that we are very sorry for all bad attitudes that we made. And now that we are graduating , it’s high time now for us to enjoy the rest of our high school life, give thanks to our dear teachers who is always persistent in providing us the gift of knowledge that is very essential for our future.

So now, so long to every one. It’s not yet goodbye because it is just only the begging. Another level of education awaits us and we must continue on what we have started.

my dream, my future

My Dream, My Future !
“ It’s free to dream “ a quote that is indeed very popular to all of us.
We have that what we call “dream” that pushes us to achieve our goals in life. As we continue our journey I know that there are things that we wanted to experience in the near future.
And as an ordinary person, I dream to be a teacher someday not just because I want to teach but because I can see myself wearing a formal uniform handling my lesson plans and my books ready to teach my students also for their future.

I know it’s not easy to achieve that kind of a dream because as I step in to the nest door of my journey I know that there will be lots of challenges and obstacles needed to pass through. But as I stand firm with my dreams and ambitions in life nothing is impossible. For as long as God in within me, my family beside me and my dear teachers to guide my I know I can do it. I can do it, I can reach my dream.

change; it start with me

Change: It Start with Me!

Since, I am already 16 of age, I am aware of the many changes that happened to me, to the people around me and the environment where I belong.
They say that “there’s no constant thing in this world than change”. This is absolutely true and factual. From a naïve and innocent kid, my transformation into a wholesome teenager is awesome. Although we are now in a modern world where technology reigns, it was still good to look back and reminisce things and moments from the past. I remember when my Lola and Mama used to tell stories about their past lives. Where they normally do their daily routine without the help of any technology. A very significant yet simple kind of living, and afterwards find myself completely amazed and wondering.
We are now in a very modern and upgraded kind of living due to the wide spreading effect of science and technology. The whole world is now experiencing the hazardous effect of climate change due to the untoward usage and treatment of our natural resources. The devastated ozone layer of the earth was believed to be caused of calamities and disasters that occurred in different countries.
Changes also happened in our government where politicians and cabinet member’s blame each other for corruption and abuse of authority that will eventually end up in resignation or replacement. Change can either be helpful nor destructive in one’s life. If a person thinks that he/she isn’t comfortable and good enough for whatever he/she right now, then it is high time for that person to go for a change, whether it is physically, emotionally or spiritual aspects of life.
As for who I am right now, I am open into the idea of changing,.. change to improve my personality as a person. Changing to involve myself to more community services and development and changing to become more family oriented and spiritual affiliation.

All things can be possible, for as long as I will do my part to initiate the changes that I want to happen in  my life.

kannawidan

“Kannawidan”

Different people, different places and different events happens every year in our country. And one of these is the celebration of various festivals.
As for us Ilocano’s, particularly here in Ilocos Sur, we usually celebrate “Kannawidan” which literaly means “culture of tradition” in Ilocano. It is a whole week celebration that took place at the Quirino Stadium here in Vigan City. It is the event to bring out the best amongst Ilocano’s, it’s culture and traditions, native crafts, products, and delicacies. It is a good opportunity specially for Ilocano traders  to introduce some of their products and a possible business to other locals.
Various events includes sports fest, raffle draws, and entertainment where different bands and celebrities performs every night.
But the most awaited and sought after event is the coronation of Ilocana beauties known as “Ms. Saniata”. Each municipalities has their own representative for the beauty pageant.  It is also a great opportunity for us Ilocano’s to recognize and appreciate fellow Iloco Surians who did great achievement in different fields here in our country and abroad.
Festivals are not just for fun and entertainment, it is also intended to educate other people especially the young ones on how the Ilocano treasure it’s values and traditions. Our beautiful places and our awesome hospitality and friendliness.

New Year, New Me!!

“New beginning”

“ New ” if we heard this word it focuses only in one meaning and that is change,.. change for the better or if not maybe change for the worst it is our own choice.

All of us really celebrate New Year, but most of us didn’t know what the real essence of it is, and that is to change for the better to start our new year with positive change for our future. And for me, now that 2013 has ended and by means of sitting and focusing writing this essay I easily reflected my life last year. And I guess there are things that I needed to change in my personality for my own good and for the sake of others. New Year, new life and a new me, probably I guess the 1st words I said during the first and second day of 2014. I want change not only in my physical appearance but change also in my social and emotional aspect.

I know that some of us wrote their new year’s resolution, but for me as long as I live in my own goals in life I know that I can reach the change of life I want to achieve this year without writing my new year’s resolution in a paper. Not to mention that I want to be more productive. Time passionate and not to be very emotional this year because I knew now that this things made me become weak in achieving my dreams in life.
So know, I’m looking forward to what 2014 has in store for me.

my 3rd reflection

                      My 3rd Grading Reflection

How time flies! Our 3rd grading period  was about to end, and one grading period awaits on us. But after I leave this grading period, I am going to reflect first the events and memories happens his time.

During this 3rd grading period, I was given the chance to go and join the bench marking activity in Baguio city which probably my first time to go in that place. I never expected that to happen in my life, and also I had the chance to give my love and blessings to some children in Nagpanawan, San Vicente Ilocos Sur and it was totally good to share joy to some children. I also got new friends this grading period. There are lots of weird things happened in me this time. And guess what, it was my first time to experience being block with so many activities and outputs that I missed class because of my extracurricular activities so I needed to cope up specially the periodical test is approaching. I didn't almost sleep at night for me to finish my outputs and in this it was very awkward and stressful. Same as the other grading period again. I have shared many happy moments with my classmates and this grading period it was my first time also to be called as “extraordinary friend” by them and it was good to here that being special and care.

Though this grading period was about to end and  our last grading period is coming, e feel being blessed this time because I was given the a chance to experience lots of good and bad things which improves my true personality.

Real Essence of Christmas

“ Real Essence of Christmas”

For me, Christmas day is not necessary the only day were we celebrate the birth of Christ; instead we must celebrate in everyday. it symbolizes new life and a new beginning for us to realize the things we have done during the past times. It’s been our tradition to display things related to Christmas specially when the month of December gets near, some of us display cute miniature of Santa Clause, making Bellens and parrols which signifies the spirit of Christmas.

But we must not forget the real essence of it, we must not only celebrate by spending our time to parties instead we must also pray at the same time. Sharing our love and blessings is also important.

Christmas should be the time were we give happiness and love to others. We must also realize how important Christmas is. During this day food and parties is not that very important  instead we must also live with the real essence of it.

Climate Change

                                                                   “WMAMN”
                                                                   We Must All Move Now

“Save mother earth, Save mother nature… Prevent Warming”
A simple slogan but in reality it gives us very important meaning. Global warming, greenhouse effect or pollution. No wonder we are facing today climate change. Climate change that cause a very harmful and shameful condition in our lives today. Because of this climate change we are now suffering so mush calamities which destroys our lives like floods, erosion's, tsunamis and storm sages.
If we compare our climate now from the past, there are so many difference. That’s why in terms of our nature I feel jealous because during the old days    their nature is very rich not only in terms of food but in terms of natural and good surroundings.

We must move now to change this bad thing into good things, because if we don’t , then we will take the risk of it. If we don’t want to regret, then let’s all move now. Because we don’t know if when will our life end.

EQUAL RIGHTS , EQUAL OPPORTUNITY !!

The Progression in Equality
(Equal Rights , Equal Opportunities)

“Favoritism” or should I say the unequally treat of every other person. In our day today, we must accept the fact that favoritism rules over the goodness of truth. Especially when someone has the power which we call money who rules over our society. But it’s high time for us to realize that each one of us should avoid having that characteristic. All of us must have equally treated rights and opportunities. All of us are created by God equally, there are no rich or poor, but why do the others don’t realize it. If God treat us in an equal way, then as far as I know we specially don’t have the right to treat others in unequal way.Equal opportunities is also needed, even though some of us do face financial problems , then it must not serve as a barrier for us to experience opportunities like what other people have achieve or reached. If we live in a society with an equal rights and opportunities then there is no way for us not to live in a peaceful country.  And for sure strong Filipino tie will come up and it will build a better society, a better Philippines and a better nation in a way that there in what we call “the spirit of equality”.

Going Global Through English Language

Globalize Language

(Going Global Through English Language)

English is the World’s National Language. It helps us to communicate with other people in outside our country. Nowadays, we are often using and learning English Language. It would be a practice for us to be more fluent in talking or speaking through English Language. If we observe, people though they have different nationality, they can also understand and the others can also speak in English way.

By means of this, we can be globally disperse. This language is being spread in the whole wide world. In the same way, it can help us also to achieve success.

My 2nd Gradind Reflection

How About My Second Grading Experience ??
:-)
During this past few days, I had encounter again some of my most unforgettable experience .As the month of August starts and the 2nd grading knocks on me  I admit the fact that I'm not that ready to face a new grading period ..
But as time passed by I faced my 2nd grading in a cheerful way, even though at first I'm not in the mood in facing it, I forced myself just to go cheerfully. I  joined some of the activities conducted by the different clubs of the school. And also this 2nd grading period  was full of funny things specially when I'm with my classmates, we do funny things but at the same time we  are learning lessons from it.
As we continue our journey, we welcome the month of October which probably the month of our dearest teachers. This month was full of activities conducted, and when our School celebrated our school based Teachers Day Wow it was my first time to be assigned as the little Guidance Coordinator. That was a spectacular moment and experience for me, because they trusted me to be in that position that time. And I can say that during that day I've realized what our guidance coordinator were doing everyday in, and it was very difficult but for me it’s very challenging and happy experience.
As I conclude my reflection. I can say that my 2nd grading experience and life was very colorful and interesting and still I'm hoping that this coming 3rd grading period will be again as colorful  as 2nd grading period.

"MY BUILDERS"
(My Teacher, My Hero)

People who are known for his/her admiring deeds. As a student in my day to day life here in school, I've been encountering lots of them ....who are they ??

We all know how great full they are , they risk their health health and specially their precious voices everyday for us to be educated . They usually come here in school during weekends . They even put their names in vain for us to be save from those people who criticized us .

2nd parents !!! They are also known foe that title, they live for us to become a good citizen, they gave us advices  for us to realize things. They ready us for our good future. Even though they can observe their selves that there are times that they are tired , they always try to stand up and guide us .

An Educator, 2nd Parents, a Friend and a HERO! , they are our TEACHERS. School is useless without them ,students cant study very well without their help .So I consider them as my hero. They BUILD ME, they GUIDE ME, and they also gave me HAPPINESS in life.

Let’s All Move Now  !!

Nowadays , there has been a lot of advisories concerning the issue on global warming and yet some people doesn't seen to care at all. Not knowing that every one plays an important role to ensure that this world is worth living , for all of us and for the succeeding generation. With the theme "Unravel the causes, build the solution . Empower science clubbers to action" gives us a limpid message to do our tasks concerning the protection and conservation of our mother earth. Natural calamities such as flood and soil erosion were just some of the devastating result of illegal logging which are most common in remote area that surrounded by hills , mountains and forest.Pollution is an undesirable change in the physical and chemical characteristics of our air, land and water that may or will harmfully affect human life and other species. And these are results of improper waste disposal . Thus rapid industrialization is a key to progress... it can also contribute/produce enormous wastes. As a student we can also do our share to help save nature . In school for instance the "No Loitering" policy is a good initiative to start the campaign . Proper segregation of garbage from biodegradable to non-biodegradable materials is a big help.See?? we can create a healthy world simply by just having that advocacy to help promote clean and green environment . We don't have to be politicians nor people with power to act on this matter. Or we might end up neglecting what we didn't do to help protect this world and make it a charming place to live in.

My Modern Day Hero

As we leave in this modern life b, we can say that there are still lots whom we can say heroes in our country. Some of theme are Politicians, News Anchors ,Basketball Players or even Street vendors. But come to think of it , there are people who sacrifices there time and efforts for us to be educated by the things we must learn.
TEACHERS !! people whom I idolize the most, because in this mature age I've already realize the things they are sacrificing and their dedicated efforts for us to be a good citizen in our country . I , as a student really understand the importance of educators to us. They in school everyday for us to learn, they sleep late at night to prepare lessons for tomorrow  and woke up early in the morning. We may not see them in their daily household chores but we can imagine or imitate things they are doing and how they manage their time to prioritize us students, our school, their family and their own selves .
They also put their name in vain for us to be save by those people who criticized us. This are some reasons for me to consider and to say that my most idolize heroes in our modern day now are my TEACHERS !! ...

Wika natin ang Daang matuwid

And I'm Proud to be a Filipino !!

Here comes another year of August.Another month for us to celebrate the month of our own native language or our "Wikang Filipino" .Its not different for us to talk on our own dialect .BUT!!..we must admit that some of our fellow Filipinos already forgot or un embraced our own dialect ,but we must and we really need to cultivate and use our own dialect. Year after year the month of August always reminds us to use our own language and reminds us how important our own language is.
So lets hold our hands together and together we will fight for our Filipino Language specially this month of August. Lets be a model to our fellow men and all together shout one of our Filipino motto "Mabuhay ang ating wikang pilipino".

WONDERS OF MY 1st GRADING!!!

First day of classes ...oh my!!!! I can't explain  my feeling...nervous???excited???glad??..I don't know .But as I stepped out in the motorcycle and saw my school, the feeling of excitement quickly chased my heart.
I cant deny the fact that I encounter lots of expectation as I saw my schedule of classes, Some of it is,,I expected that during our English time it will be hard for me to adjust because our subj.teacher in that subj.is the same with my subject teacher when I was still in 1st year. And guess what!? I'm afraid  with my teacher in English. But my expectation did not meet at all because as of now I'm dealing with my teacher in English in a nice joking and fun way.As I continue observing my other class, there's no question with it ,because we meet our very lovable and as we know caring subject teachers.
CLASSMATES???!!!expected....another noisy class year ,but honestly I really missed my classmates specially those funny memories with them.I'm not that plastic to say that I'm not one of them in making rude-fun things ,but we do rude things in a way that we do it with a  good purpose.
Its August time passes  very fast ,but why not enjoy our last year here in second life right?? We will still meet lots of unexpected happenings as we go through in our life.

July 22, another historical day for us Filipono's beacause our president already address his 4th State Of The Nation Address .At this very young age we youths cannot deny that we are not that serious talking about it.But as we analyze how important the SONA is,we've became serious about it.             As I watch his SONA on the website I can say that his SONA this year  is the best ,most detailed ,clear and  most overwhelming SONA that he address               He also mentioned one man who he said that is nvery modelous person that other person must imitate.During his speech he mentioned his accomplishments for all his programs during his term, and I can say that his accomplishments contribute a lot for the success of our country specially in our economy .He also mentioned some problems that he will give solution:
*The power crisis in Mindanao      *Continuing corruption      *Bad traffic      *Food problem       *Failure dredge etc..
I wish that all this problem will be solved as soon as possible.

ESSAY:Gutom at Malnutrisyon ,Sama-sama nating Wakasan"

Theme: " Gutom at Malnutrisiyon, sama-sama nating wakasan"

"Poverty",..this must be the reason why we experience health problems . But why do people whom we can tell rich or with enough money to buy nutritious foods also experience health problems?

"Gutom at malnutrisyon sama-sama nating wakasan " During the month of July, we are celebrating  the Nutrition Month, our government and other private organization do promote programs to prevent the increasing health problems. Some of them organized Food Feeding Programs  in order to help our fellow men in taking good care of their heath. Our government also campaign ways on how we manage our food everyday. Fruits and Vegetable that are good in our body, enough rest, daily exercise and clean body, this things must be done continously and this were the things that our health experts were campaigning for us to take good care of our health.

We don't needs lots of money to buy nutritious foods .We must be resourceful in life,by simply planting vegetables in our backgrounds we can contribute lots of good things in our economy ,in order for us to buy foods with cheap cost value.

Anything that is much and less specially in eating nutritious foods can cause malnutrition .So lts help one another to prevent this kind of health problem.

Letter To The President

Ilocos Sur National High School
June 25,  2013

Dear Mr.President,
Before anything else, let me extend my warmest greetings to you.
As a student in secondary level, I've noticed a lot of problems concerning us youth's of today, especially us students. Due to poverty, many of us wasn't able to finish studies and some were even forced to enter child labor, or seek for a work at their early age. Works that wouldn't  ask for a higher educational attainment as requirement. In some surveys, minor also get involved into prostitutes and other harmful element in this society.
Nowadays, we have these means to communicate through technologies and other social media's , but how about those unfortunate one's in remote areas?
I knew that your government is trying it's best to cope up with all the needs of your people..But still wasn't good enough. We urge and look forward of a way which we can be able to express our supplications for the welfare and protections of youths.
Someday, we also wish to be called "Leaders" in a good way. So please prepare us for a brighter future.
Very truly yours,
Shaldan Mae A. Soriano
